Machine Selection

tube fiber laser cutting machine

Resolve chucking, remaining uncut end and acceptance of pierced holes before you specify a tube fiber laser cutting machine. This dossier is a procurement decision aid. It is not an engineering stamp, a compliance certificate or a sustainability report.

Acceptance basis

Work through this decision
Acceptance basis: Must have
Write how pierced holes, edge dross and part flatness will be accepted on tube, not only on sheet coupons. Include outside diameter in millimetres, path weight in kilograms per metre and automatic-loading raw length in millimetres. Name whether seams, weld beads and open profiles need extra supports. The cut trial should use the alloys and wall thicknesses that will fill the tube schedule, with assist gas and piercing method stated for that mix.
Tradeoff
A dedicated tube fiber laser cutting machine with its own chuck and loader costs a second envelope and a second SAT. Adding a tube option to a sheet machine can look efficient until chuck clearance and remnant length reject the actual profiles. Neither path is a universal recommendation. Choose after the manufacturer lists support rollers, remaining uncut end and who programs the tube nest.
Next question
Does tube processing require a separate chuck and support configuration? If yes, keep it as its own RFQ column so sheet bidders are not scored on tube claims they never made. If no, record why the proposed chuck covers the diameter and kg/m range, and still run a tube sample before releasing payment milestones.

Acceptance also fails when buyers treat laser power in kilowatts as a substitute for hole quality on small diameters. Cycle time without loading the raw stick, supporting the finished length and clearing remnants is not a commercial number. Positioning tolerance on a demo tube may not survive a bent incoming stick. FAT should record the same hole, dross and flatness checks you will use at SAT. If those checks are missing, stop the approval rather than converting a brochure into a receiving standard.

Optional budget still belongs on the inquiry: amount or range, currency, and whether the figure is per machine or for the whole order including chucks. Supplier preference (premium, mid-range, budget-friendly or compare) is a buyer tradeoff on finish and support hours, not a verified league table. No existing quotation is required to start. Describe drawings in the requirements box; there is no upload control. When the chucking answers are written, send them from the contact form.
